The work of Marco Maria Zanin (Padua 1983) reveals the path started by the artist who carried on a poetic and detailed research on the subject of landscapes and cities, based on a classic approach, a complete technique and a great narrative capacity.
With several photographs on the subject of the Veneto countryside and the Brazilian megalopolis São Paulo, the artist proposes to illustrate the power of contemporary photography to reveal invisible emotions. Despite his humbleness, Marco Maria Zanin’s innovative eye strikes us for his delicate maturity. His photographs capture us thanks to the intrinsic tension between strength and delicateness.
CATTEDRALI RURALI shows totally new views of the Veneto countryside, unveiled in the sleepy splendour of the winter dawn. As a painter, the artist handles an immense palette of greys, in their most subtle hues: from a dark anthracite to the tender vert-de-gris. Through the composition, he offers us a philosophical reading of the landscape. His talent lies in making the silence of these fascinating places eloquent.
SÃO PAULO series is large in size and gathers the views of São Paulo in Brazil, where the artists often resides. Marco Maria Zanin dominates the megalopolis with the tenderness of the composition and the hues. Thanks to the strength of his gaze, he reveals the poetry of a place aprioristically inhuman and tentacular. Contrary to the low rural planes, the author’s point of view rises, enlarging the horizon and the impact of his message.
The contrast and the continuity between urban landscapes and bucolic ones are surprising and the emotions perceived reveal a great mastery of the photographic technique. This victory over the void, this inspired and delicate interpretation of the world together with the revelation of the beauty that surrounds us make Marco Maria Zanin, without him knowing, the refined messenger of a new, rare and enchanting photography.
